Maybe I should've done engineering...

On Friday, I had the privilege of going underground and seeing some of the stations under construction as part of the Epping to Chatswood rail link, thanks to Eddy (Engoched)! (btw if you're reading - THANKS AGAIN! ^.^)

Being a gunzel, it was certainly a really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really exciting opportunity!

We started off at Epping at the services building, and looked at some of the stuff inside. I didn't realise the services building was so HUGE!

12 flights of stairs later...

...we reached Epping platforms 4 and 5. The picture below is platform 4 - they're currently in the process of installing the cavern roof. The tracks for the entire project have pretty much been laid now, and the second picture shows the track leading into platform 4.

After heading back to the surface, we quickly looked at the new aerial concourse...

...before heading over to Macquarie University station (Eddy is in both those pics!). The station cavern is currently being fitted out but progress is good.

In the near future, this station exit will take you to Macquarie Centre.

We decided to climb back up to the top via the scaffolding in the entrance shaft - it was quite a climb (about 10 levels of scaffolding).

Afterwards, we headed to North Ryde station, which isn't as complete as Macquarie University as station fit-outs started 4 months after Macquarie University.

By the time we exited the station via the services building, our stomachs told us to eat lunch. So we did. And along with another EFC brother (who turns out to be a distant cousin of mine!) we stuffed ourselves with KFC.

The rest of the afternoon was spent catching up with a dear brother, before rushing back home for Glue! If you haven't ever read Numbers, you should do so because it contains warnings for us even today about our attitude towards God.

All in all a fantastic day...I give it a rating of 86/10. =)

engoched: hehe yep highly top secret! =X

so...how did i get it. well a bro in Christ (Eddy) is currently working on the project, and his manager allowed me to have a visit. =)
