CityRail apologises for...

The other day, the CityRail website decided to give a service announcement of its own...

oh wow, that brings me back to the days when they used to have the automated voice apologise about late running trains and everyone ended up annoyed by it!

They haven't brought it back in since have they?

ehehe ahhh yeah those things...

"The...three...thirty...four... train...to... hornsby, via strathfield, is running approximately...fifteen...minutes... late... CityRail apologises for the delay, and any inconvenience caused"

>.<

then for a while they got rid of the apology part of the announcement since they had to play it so often that it lacked sincerity!

I think they're still around, though a bit less now since trains are a bit more reliable under the September 05 timetable.

there may even be a policy where late announcements should be announced personally by the station attendant...all in the interest of "customer service" =P

hahaha I remember those days back in high school...waiting at Central Station... a bunch of sophisticated girls in their lovely brown uniforms groan and complain about the delay and insincerity of the apology...good times good times XD

hehehe so have def noticed the change~! Though I am still waiting for CityRail to transform into the magnificent MTR hehehe

Do you know when they'll renew Lindfield station??? (heard the news a couple of months back...)

ahhahaHAHAHA...transforming into the MTR?!

Lindfield station eh. Yeah it's probably in the planning phase, though I don't know when the actual upgrade is happening hehehe.

Normally upgrades take a few`years to do from the moment the idea is proposed to the upgrade being completed. It's because of all the approvals that are needed, then the design work, then evaluating all the designs and choosing the best one, then waiting for the money to be made available, and then the actual construction work, and all the jazz that goes with that like site establishment, putting up hoardings, diversions, safety, track possession works, contingencies etc! =P

imagine how much more difficult it is to get a major project off the ground, like a new rail line...!

well....it'd half explain why I still don't have a train line in my suburb!! :(

I wonder if there will be one here in my lifetime :P

chandrew: ehehe hopefully there will be! State Treasury and NSW Planning are still quiet about the North-West line. The South-West line has concept approval granted by Planning already. Now it's up to detailed design, and waiting for the $$$ to come!

it would be so convenient if the north-west line gets up and running, and would really make the north-west boom.

like...KABOOM boom. And people can get to Hillsong really easily... =P
